2009 in Review

2009 has come and gone, but for most of us who move to a new atmosphere, it feels like the year has just begun. like all years, this year has it’s up and downs. each memories plants itself like seed, blossoms when you revisits it.

what is worth remembering in 2009?

10 Things from the East

1. Eat at Escapade Sushi, Brunei

with dr lee, mr koh, connie, jenny, chu jin, kristmin, pollux, natacia, ling lee and sis 🙂

2. Passed my driving test

once, and only once 🙂 drive to school alone shortly after chinese new year

3. Meet up with high school friends

not very often anymore. but we don’t forget where we come from, or friends that have touched our hearts.

4. Celebrate Chinese New Year

in kuching

with cousins who are now both in australia.(which part, i can’t remember!) i doubt i’m going to spend chinese new year close to home in the near future.

and in miri

with friends and family. some things you can never get bored of. like receving red packets while visiting friends :p

5. had fun in physics tuition

or i meant not paying attention in physics tuition. it starts with a simple y=cos2(x), and with imagination and creativity of three girls, it turns to…

6. get shell scholarship

7. meet up with Catherine Kayong.

it starts with an unexpected phone call to congratulate me about no.6 . i still feels touched every time i remember that she remembers me, this little nobody. she was my primary school teacher, and now my friend.

8. graduated from RIT

9. have reunions and gatherings

and again

and again

10.  spend my three months holiday well;

i bake, i cook, i sew, i mend, i sort, i garden. most importantly, i spend time with people i love. and people who love me in return, no judgements made.

10 things from the West

11. embark on another  a new chapter

12. cook 🙂

13. go on a shopping spree in Cheshire Oaks

Cheshire Oaks

14. visits Nottingham for Nottingham Games

with new friends

and meet up with the old.

15. explore Leeds

16. get a new phone ; Nokia N97 Mini

it is a contract phone, all worth it.

17. enters a church a couple of times

the first time is before the campus tour (orientation week), followed by this candlelight caroling or whatever, and the third is in London- westminster abbey.

18. see snow for the first time

it’s quite magical.  it’s like flickering pieces of ice floating in the air

19. go to London for Christmas

it’s my first time since coming to UK that i’ve slept in other places apart from my bed at Weston Hall. we visit a lot of places.

20. watch fireworks for the coming new year

which is just spectacular.

with friends close to the heart

now that 2009’s gone, let us put the heartache, the bitter memories and the misery to rest and start the new year with faith, trust, hope and love. and once in a while, let us reflect on ourselves and see if we like the person we are becoming, because nothing is worth it if we lose ourselves along the way…

Happy New Year 2010 !

how is your 2009?
