“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsh
This year reminds me of a very important lesson: The power of perception. If we change the way we see the world, we can change the world we see.
I had a lot of good memories this year. In a conscious effort to connect with people, I spent more quality time with family and relatives, reached out to old friends, and made some new acquaintances. Face-to-face interactions require more emotional involvement and cognitive effort; it is more interesting than virtual ones, and more than often, just as tiring.
I started the year doing something brave, and since then, I have been trying new things, combating fears and eliminating possibilities of what-ifs. I learn to ride a bike, experience snorkelling in an open sea, learn modern calligraphy, and start to incorporate inversions in my yoga practice. With a more mindful yoga practice, I become more aware with my thoughts, speech and actions.
In 2017, I reconnected with people, attended several beautiful weddings, became my close friend’s bridesmaid, travelled with friends and family, visited national heritages including the national mosque!

Have a Happy New Year 2018!
